1) The Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran from 1986 – 2011, was the highest rated show of its kind in the history of television.

2) Oprah was a single teen mom. Her son died as an infant.

3) Oprah was r@ped at 9 and pregnant by the age of 14.

4) Winfrey co-anchored a local television show at the age of 19 and then moved into daytime television after helping the #3 show in the city rise to #1

5) Oprah is given credit for delivering a million votes to Barack Obama during the very close 2008 Democratic Primary

6) Oprah’s name is biblical, coming from the book of Ruth.

7) Oprah was conceived in a one-time encounter. The couple split up soon after.

8) Oprah’s genetic makeup is 89% Sub-Sahara African

9) Oprah was so poor during her days in Mississippi that her grandmother, Hattie Mae Lee, used to send her to school with dresses made out of potato sacks. Clearly, this didn’t make her a trendsetter at school.

10) Oprah’s grandmother taught her to read before the age of 3 and she was nicknamed “the preacher” for her ability to recite bible verses.
