This sure got my attention. The life of a boy living in the Ghetto’s of India mixed with a little fairy tale love story. And who doesn’t love the show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”? So far Slumdog Millionaire is getting good reviews. I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to seeing it.

The soundtrack to “Slumdog Millionaire” will mark the first release on M.I.A.’s (Paper Planes) Interscope label, N.E.E.T. In 2009.
It’s unusual to see Mariah Carey all covered up but here she is vacationing in Mexico and no bikini. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what her and hubby Nick Cannon have been up to. If she’s not pregnant now I’m sure she will be soon. To be continued….

Chris Brown was the big winner at the American Music Awards on Sunday night, surprising himself most of all.
“I don’t know what to say. I would have given it to Coldplay,” said Brown, who won artist of the year, male pop/rock artist and male soul/R&B artist.
Kanye West, still sore at losing male rap/hip-hop artist last year, won the trophy this time – then said Lil Wayne deserved it more.
“I want to give this award to Wayne,” he said. “If it was last year it would have been my award.”
It was West’s second trophy of the night, following his win for rap/hip-hop album, for Graduation.
“It’s our responsibility as musicians to push music to the point it was in the ’60s and ’70s,” he said. “I want to be Elvis.”
Host Jimmy Kimmel, who had made West’s ego a running joke, quipped: “Elvis died on the toilet with half a jelly doughnut in his mouth. You may want to rethink that.”
Alicia Keys, who captured two awards for her As I Am album, winning for both the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories, let out a loud “Woooooooo” after picking up a trophy, then dedicated her victory “to all the super women who struggle every day to make it through.”
The show climaxed with Keys performing “Superwoman” with Queen Latifah and opera star Kathleen Battle, and ending with a large photo projected on a screen of incoming first lady Michelle Obama.
In a big night for American Idol alums, Daughtry – winner of three trophies last year – picked up another this year for pop/rock group, while former Idol champ Jordin Sparks won for adult contemporary music, and Carrie Underwood won for country album for Carnival Ride.
Taylor Swift, uncomfortably sharing L.A.’s Nokia Theatre auditorium with ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas, won for female country artist, and Rihanna got two awards for pop/rock female artist and female soul R&B artist.
Rascal Flatts picked up their fouth American Music Award – and third in the last three years – for country band, and Brad Paisley won for male country artist, getting a laugh from the audience as he turned over the pyramid-shaped trophy and said, “Made in China?”
Music’s A-listers were out in force as the show featured blockbuster performances by Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Rihanna, West, birthday girl Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers, who also won the breakthrough artist award.
And Justin Timberlake made a surprise appearance to introduce award of merit recipient Annie Lennox.

A gunman drove across the country to confront his estranged wife, then killed her in a church vestibule as Sunday services let out, authorities said. Two other people were injured in the attack, which sent churchgoers scrambling for safety.
"Kids were crying. People were screaming," Suja Alummoottil told The Record of Bergen County. "It was chaotic."
Police Detective Capt. Robert Rowan identified the slain woman as 24-year-old Reshma James and the gunman as 27-year-old Joseph M. Pallipurath of Sacramento, Calif.
Police did not identify the other two victims, but Rowan told The Star-Ledger of Newark that all three were shot in the head and that the other two, a 47-year-old woman and 23-year-old man, were in critical condition.
Rowan said James had recently moved from California to New Jersey to escape an abusive marriage and had filed a restraining order against Pallipurath.

WHAT HAS THIS WORLD COME TO?
 
A 19 year old man named Abraham Biggs used his webcam to broadcast his suicide over the internet. He overdosed on prescription pills while about 1,300 viewers watched and encouraged him to go through with it. After taking the pills, he lay on his bed motionless until finally someone watching the incident reached out to 911. By the time the police arrived, he was already dead.
I do hope his family can find comfort and strength in each other and know he’s in a better place now.

The Federal Communications Commission has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the indecency case over Janet Jackson’s breast-baring performance at the 2004 Super Bowl. You ask me, I think they just want to see her breastesses…lol. Come on guys it’s been four years, let it go already. But then again, times are hard right now so that $550,000 fine against CBS Corp could sure come in handy! We’ll stay tuned to see how this thing UNBUCKLES.

Actress/singer Scarlett Johansson’s 24th birthday is today. Wow only 24? Either way, happy birthday to her.
Twilight movie premiere. Highly anticipated…not so good reviews.
Usher and his wife Tameka Foster are expecting their second child. The baby boy or girl (no mention of the baby’s sex as of yet) is due in December.
Their first child together (a boy) was born in November 2007. Tameka, 38, has three children from a previous relationship. Wouldn’t it be nice if they have a little girl this time? Congratulations and best wishes to them.
As though there isn’t enough drama surrounding the Housewives of Atlanta reality tv stars, Nene goes and gets busted bargain shopping in TJ Maxx by Media Take Out. NeNe…say it aint so!
There are rumors floating around that her husband, Greg Leakes was served with eviction papers for the home they lived in during the taping of the show. I would like to imagine this was just some kind of misunderstanding but I do have to wonder…

Ashley Alexandra Dupre is scheduled to appear with Diane Sawyer on “20/20″ this Friday where she will talk about how she got into the business and how it’s affected her psychologically.
Hmmm….sounds like she’ll be crying victim and making lots of quick cash at the same time. Makes me wonder why I bother busting my butt to make an honest living. I guess in life it really is about who you know and not what you know.
