The movie of Aaliyah’s life from childhood to her success as one of R&B’s top female artist is set to be released sometime in 2009.  Often referred to as an angel, Aaliyah sold 32 million albums worldwide while working with Missy Elliott and Timbaland.  Her life came to a tragic end at 22 when her plane crashed leaving behind family, friends and millions of fans.  It certainly will be nice to have one last contribution in her name…I hope this movie delivers.

According to BET, “Canadian-born R&B singer Keisha Chante has reportedly been selected to play Aaliyah.  Do you think they look alike?

Usher and Tameka welcomed their new baby boy Naviyd Ely into the world on Wednesday, December 10th.  Usher was present for the 3am delivery of his 2nd baby boy.  This makes five boys for Tameka.  Maybe they will try again for the girl?

Dame has been listed as one of hip hop’s biggest moguls.  We’ve watched his rise to the top and his stumble toward the bottom.  With reports about his home foreclosures and bankrupt status all over the media, Dame seems a little different than the cocky dude we remember seeing in the past.  Check out the video below to get a glimpse of where he’s going next.

A Christmas Story….Watch

Bravo has just announced there will be a season 2 for “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”  Yipee!  This is one of those shows you don’t admit watching but ya just can’t help but watching.  In fact, this show brought in some of the highest ratings ever on Bravo. With that being said, you have to wonder about the NeNe Leakes eviction rumors.  I mean damn…can’t Bravo hook a sista up?  If not anything else, it does make for good ratings.  There’s no word yet as to when the next season will air but we sure are looking forward to it.

We love Ne-Yo’s music at Jemblog but had to show this video of his Apollo performance. Before the fame and the fans there was the boos and no hat…uggh.
