With the unveiling of all-new 2011 Bentley Mulsanne, it’s obvious that Bentley is ready to step back in to the ring with its former sibling Rolls-Royce.Bentley’s new flagship, the new Mulsanne, made it’s world premiere at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours. Calling the Mulsanne “at the pinnacle of the ultra-luxury segment”, Bentley isn’t’ hiding the fact that it has it’s sights set squarely on the Rolls-Royce’s Phantom.
The Mulsanne, designer completely from the ground up, is powered by the completely redesigned 6.75-liter V-8 engine. The base pricetag of close to $300,000 will be before any customizations are specified. But, Bentley promises the new sedan’s wood, leather and brightware will be among the industry’s finest.
