Kanye West ‘feeling really defeated’ and privately seething over pal Beyoncé’s success

He’s a self-professed ‘genius’ who could never be called shy when it comes to big-noting himself.
But according to reports, Kanye West is biting his tongue while privately fuming over the success of pal Beyoncé’s visual album.
The woman widely known as Queen B lived up to her reputation as she pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes and dropped her entire 14-track self-titled album, along with 17 accompanying videos, with no warning on December 13.

It was a gamble that well and truly paid off for the multi-Grammy-winning singer, with the record – which was exclusively sold as a digital download through iTunes it its first week – flying up the charts, with more than 1.5 million copies already sold in the month since its release, compared to the less than one million copies of Kanye’s critically-acclaimed Yeezus album sold since June.
Alas, RadarOnline has exclusively learned that rapper West is ‘feeling really defeated over Beyoncé’s album doing so well’ having allegedly previously thought up the idea but failing to go through with it on advisement from his team.
‘He wanted to do a visual album for his [My Beautiful] Dark Twisted Fantasy album, but everyone around him convinced him it wouldn’t work,’ an insider tells Radar. ‘That’s why he ended up doing one long movie to go with it [the 35-minute short film Runaway].’
However, in a complete 180 for the notoriously hot-headed star, he decided not to openly discuss the disappointment for fear he would once again be slammed – this time for insinuating the 32-year-old stole his idea.

‘He’s kind of annoyed, but he doesn’t want to talk about how he came up with the idea first because of how he got slammed for saying he invented leather jogging pants a few years ago,’ the source continues. ‘Plus, he needs to stay on good terms with Jay Z.’
Of course, Yeezy and Jay are long-time collaborators and friends, so to acuse his wife of stealing his intellectual property will certainly not go down well.
Instead, the 36-year-old father-of-one is said to be focusing all his efforts on coming up with something even better that will blow Bey’s stunt out of the water.
‘He’s super-focused on moving forward. He’s working so hard to come up with something that will eclipse Beyoncé and put him back on top.’

His self-starter fiancée Kim Kardashian is reported to be behind him 100 per cent, urging him to do something that will also help repair his waning public image.
‘[Kim] is pushing him to do something major too. He might do something like a huge free concert or a free album to get himself in the headlines again, and for a good reason,’ the insider hints.
While rumours of a possible rift abounded when Kim and Kanye failed to attend the 60th birthday party Bey and sister Solange Knowles threw for their mom Tina Knowles in New Orleans on Saturday, just days later the 33-year-old was tweeting lyrics from her friend’s new sexually-explicit song Drunk In Love.
‘Graining on that wood,’ she captioned a photo from date night with her man, followed by another featuring the description, ‘Surfing all of this good good good.’
